Clear Information and Responsible Practice

Helping You Understand Who Is Providing Your Care

Before choosing an aesthetics or hair restoration practitioner, you should be able to understand their role, qualifications, relevant training and professional responsibilities. Elevate Aesthetics is committed to presenting this information clearly and accurately.

We will not use professional titles that James is not entitled to use, imply membership of organisations without current registration or describe a treatment as risk-free.

Every recommendation is subject to consultation and individual suitability. Where treatment is not appropriate, or where a concern requires medical investigation, this will be explained honestly.

Hair Restoration Training

Training Supporting the Hair Restoration Programme

Elevate's Hair Restoration Programme is built around appropriate assessment, professional scalp microneedling, supported home care and progress monitoring. James's relevant training is listed clearly once verified, including scalp microneedling, hair-loss related education, LED light therapy and infection prevention or skin-needling training.

Training in scalp microneedling does not mean every form of hair loss can be diagnosed or treated at Elevate. When the cause of hair thinning is unclear or symptoms suggest further investigation is needed, clients may be advised to consult their GP, a dermatologist or another appropriately qualified professional.

Prescribing and Consultation

Clear Information About Prescription-Only Treatment

Some facial aesthetics treatments involve prescription-only medicines. These require an appropriate consultation and prescribing decision by a suitably qualified prescriber.

Elevate Aesthetics works with [PRESCRIBING ARRANGEMENTS TO CONFIRM]. The prescriber is responsible for assessing whether a prescription-only treatment is clinically appropriate for the individual client.

A prescription is not guaranteed following consultation. Treatment can only proceed when the required assessment has been completed and the prescriber considers it appropriate.

Before Treatment

  1. 01

    1. Understanding Your Concerns

James will ask what you have noticed, how it affects you and what you hope to achieve.

  2. 02

    2. Reviewing Relevant History

You will be asked about relevant health conditions, medication, allergies, previous treatments and other factors that may affect suitability.

  3. 03

    3. Individual Assessment

Depending on the service, this may include assessment of facial characteristics and movement or examination of the hair and scalp.

  4. 04

    4. Explaining Your Options

Potential outcomes, limitations, risks, timescales, aftercare and costs will be discussed before treatment.

  5. 05

    5. Making an Informed Decision

You will have the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether you wish to proceed. Attending a consultation does not commit you to treatment.

Informed Consent

Consent is more than signing a form. It involves understanding the proposed treatment and having the opportunity to ask questions.

  • The purpose of the proposed treatment
  • Why it may or may not be suitable
  • What the appointment involves
  • Potential benefits and likely limitations
  • Common and significant risks
  • Expected recovery or aftercare
  • Possible alternative options
  • The cost of treatment
  • Any recommended follow-up
  • What to do if there is a concern afterwards

Consent must be given freely and can be withdrawn before treatment. Where a cooling-off period or separate prescribing appointment is required, this will be explained clearly.

Responsible Sourcing

Products and Equipment Selected for Professional Use

Products and equipment used at Elevate are sourced through appropriate professional channels and stored in accordance with relevant instructions, including using equipment intended for professional treatment, following manufacturer instructions, checking packaging and expiry dates and maintaining appropriate storage conditions.

Claims such as "medical-grade", "clinically proven", "approved" or "certified" are only used when the exact product and claim can be fully substantiated.

Documenting your journey

Standardised progress photography

Where you consent, standardised photographs are taken at baseline and at review appointments using consistent positioning and lighting.

This makes it possible to review change objectively over time rather than relying on memory. Photographs are stored securely and are never published without your written permission.

Knowing When Not to Treat

Professional care includes recognising when a concern requires a different form of assessment. Treatment may be declined or postponed when a contraindication is identified, expectations cannot reasonably be met, the cause of hair loss is unclear, or the proposed treatment falls outside the practitioner's scope.

Where appropriate, clients may be advised to consult their GP, dermatologist, pharmacist, independent prescriber or another relevant healthcare professional. Elevate does not claim to diagnose every cause of hair loss or replace appropriate medical investigation.
